The Philadelphia 76ers are quarantined in New York City for contact tracing after a player tested positive for COVID-19 during Thursday's loss to the Brooklyn Nets, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.

The player is guard Seth Curry, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Curry didn't play due to ankle soreness and spent the first quarter in the bench area before the 76ers became aware of his positive test, according to Wojnarowski. The 30-year-old was then reportedly placed in isolation.

He played 36 minutes in Philadelphia's win over the Washington Wizards on Wednesday.

While the 76ers enter contact tracing protocol in New York, the Nets will travel as planned to Memphis to play the Grizzlies, a source told The Athletic's Joe Vardon.

The Sixers' next scheduled game is at home against the Denver Nuggets on Saturday.

Center Joel Embiid plans to self-quarantine from his family until he's certain he didn't contract the coronavirus, he told ESPN's Ramona Shelburne. Embiid sat next to Curry at one point during Thursday's game.

The NBA reportedly began mandating Thursday that players and some team staffers begin wearing contact-tracing sensors.
