Justin Turner's days in Dodger Blue might be numbered.

The veteran third baseman is asking for a four-year contract in free agency, and the Los Angeles Dodgers aren't willing to go beyond two years, sources told Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times.

Turner, 36, has been a key contributor over his seven seasons in Los Angeles. An All-Star in 2017, Turner's hit .302/.382/.503 with 116 home runs and 406 RBIs over 796 games with the Dodgers.

If the two sides can't find common ground, Los Angeles is expected to look outside the organization - either via trade or free agency - to replace Turner, Castillo reports.

Former New York Yankees infielder DJ LeMahieu, Cincinnati Reds third baseman Eugenio Suarez, and Chicago Cubs star Kris Bryant are listed as potential targets.

The Dodgers have reportedly been linked to Gold Glove third baseman Nolan Arenado, but the Colorado Rockies are reluctant to trade within the NL West.

If Turner doesn't return to Los Angeles, he'll leave mostly on top. He hit .320 with a pair of home runs against the Tampa Bay Rays in October en route to helping the Dodgers capture their first World Series since 1988. However, Turner was criticized for returning to the field to celebrate with teammates after being forced to leave the deciding game earlier in the contest when it was revealed he tested positive for COVID-19.
