Errol Spence Jr. retained the IBF and WBC welterweight titles after defeating Danny Garcia via unanimous decision on Saturday night in Arlington, Texas.

Spence dominated the 12-round bout as he stayed a step ahead of Garcia for the duration. He landed 187 punches compared to Garcia's 117.

It was the unified welterweight champ's first fight since a split-decision victory over Shawn Porter in September 2019; Spence had suffered injuries after crashing his car that October. The 30-year-old was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident and was later charged with driving while intoxicated, according to Ben Baby of ESPN.

Spence remains undefeated, improving his professional record to 28-0 with his triumphant return to the ring.

The fight was originally scheduled for last January, but was postponed due to the car crash and again because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

While there's no word yet on who Spence's next opponent may be, he received some congratulations from another high-profile welterweight.

One potential option would be a fight against WBO welterweight champion Terence Crawford, who was in attendance on Saturday.
