Shamet goes to Nets, Kennard to Clips in 3-team trade with Pistons
The Brooklyn Nets, Los Angeles Clippers, and Detroit Pistons agreed on a draft-night trade, the teams announced.
Landry Shamet, Bruce Brown, and No. 57 pick Reggie Perry will go to the Nets, while Luke Kennard, Justin Patton, No. 55 pick Jay Scrubb, and four second-round picks head to the Clippers. Rodney McGruder, Dzanan Musa, and the No. 19 pick in the 2020 draft - which the team used to select Saddiq Bey - were acquired by the Pistons. Detroit also received the draft rights to 2019 second-round pick Jaylen Hands.
Kennard, the 12th pick in the 2017 draft, averaged 15.8 points, 4.1 assists, and 3.5 rebounds per game with the Pistons in 2019-20.
The 23-year-old Shamet, who was selected 26th overall in 2018, averaged 9.3 points, 1.9 assists, and 1.9 rebounds with Los Angeles. McGruder, 29, averaged 3.3 points and 2.7 rebounds per game as a depth option on the Clippers.
