Report: Nuggets among teams assessing availability of Pelicans' Holiday
Jrue Holiday won't hit free agency until 2021 at the earliest, but the New Orleans Pelicans guard has apparently become a focal point of the 2020 offseason. Around 10 teams - including the Denver Nuggets - have inquired about his trade availability, sources told Yahoo Sports' Vincent Goodwill.
Holiday averaged 19.1 points, 6.7 assists, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per game with 35.3% shooting on 3-pointers in 2019-20. The 30-year-old led the Pelicans to a 30-42 record in the team's first season after trading franchise star Anthony Davis.
The UCLA product is a former All-Star and a two-time All-Defensive Team selectee, making the First Team in 2017-18 and Second Team in 2018-19. Holiday was also named the Twyman-Stokes Teammate of the Year this past season.
He is owed $26.3 million for 2020-21 and has a player option for 2021-22 worth $27.2 million.
