Swiss Skydiver defeated Kentucky Derby champion Authentic by a nose in a thrilling photo finish to win the 145th Preakness Stakes.

The filly was given 11-1 odds to win, while Authentic was the race's favorite at 3-2. Jesus' Team (40-1) finished third.

Swiss Skydiver is the first filly to win the race since 2009, and only the sixth ever, according to SportsCenter.

Her time of 1:53.28 is the second-fastest recorded in the history of the event at Pimlico Race Track, trailing only Secretariat (1:53.0) in 1973, according to ESPN.

This marks the second Preakness Stakes victory for jockey Robby Albarado after winning the race in 2007. It's the first Preakness win for trainer Kenneth McPeek.
