Falcons fan writes resignation letter to team after loss to Cowboys
The Atlanta Falcons' 40-39 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday was enough to prompt one fan to stop supporting the team.
Following the loss - which saw Atlanta squander a 20-point lead - Twitter user Harlen Shackelford wrote a letter announcing his resignation as a fan of the Falcons.
"In my 28th year of existence, I have decided to no longer embrace the suck. It is not me. It is absolutely and definitively you," Shackelford wrote. "Thank you for nothing except cheap game day tickets due to consistent mediocrity you've continued to produce, failing to ever start the season as NFL champs."
Today was the last straw. Please respect my decision. I'm open to team recruiters.

Thank you @dallascowboys and @dak for helping me come to this life-changing decision. #ATLvsDAL #DALvsATL #CowboysNation #Falcons pic.twitter.com/2ZveNQkyvU
Shackelford wasn't alone in his disappointment. Many others, including NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley and the Los Angeles Clippers' Montrezl Harrell, also criticized the Falcons after the game.

The Falcons fell to 0-2 on the season with Sunday's loss. They face the 2-0 Chicago Bears in Week 3.
