Every week of the college football season, we'll recap what stood out from a betting perspective.

Here's what we learned in Week 2.

Syracuse's offense is still sputtering

I watched the entire Syracuse-North Carolina game. It was the second-worst decision I made on Saturday, right after betting the over for this one.

North Carolina's defense sacked quarterback Tommy DeVito seven times, which was fitting after he was the most-sacked signal-caller in the Power 5 last season.

I didn't see any offensive adjustments the Orange made after ranking 104th in yards per play last season. They went 8-4 to the under then and should cash more in 2020.

LS-UTSA

Every year for the next decade, we're going to ask which offense can become the "next LSU," and which unit can take a gargantuan leap from "I'd rather watch paint dry" to record-setting in one season.

I'm only half-joking by crowning the UTSA Roadrunners as the early 2020 favorites for that title.

A bottom-25 offense nationally in yards per play last season put on a clinic in the school's opener, though you and I could score 24 on the Texas State defense.

First-year UTSA head coach Jeff Traylor - who used to hang nearly 60 points per game on high school students - had his offense running at warp speed while churning out 51 points and 500 yards. Oh, and UTSA's defense can't stop a soul.

More overs, please. Meep meep.

Georgia Tech has juice

Georgia Tech was in a full-on rebuild last year under head coach Geoff Collins, who was teaching a new system to players recruited to run the triple option. The school unsurprisingly ranked No. 124 in the country in yards per play.

This year? Infinitely more juice.

The Yellow Jackets looked faster, more explosive, and more confident during their win over Florida State on Saturday as 12.5-point underdogs (we called that!). The offense registered 438 yards and a slew of chunk plays, which were difficult for the unit to muster in 2019.

Don't sleep on Georgia Tech in the near future, or its overs.

Western Kentucky = under

Remember the 2014 and 2015 Western Kentucky offenses that paced the country in scoring? Those days are long gone for the Hilltoppers.

There wasn't any creativity against Louisville this past weekend. Quarterback Tyrrell Pigrome either ran a read-option for a couple of yards, or he hit a receiver with a quick pass in the flats. Western Kentucky was set up with phenomenal field position on two of its three touchdowns against the Cardinals. Otherwise, there weren't many bright spots from the team offensively.

Play the under when the Hilltoppers are involved going forward.
