The Philadelphia Phillies acquired bullpen help from the Milwaukee Brewers, trading three PTBNL for right-hander David Phelps, the team announced.
Phelps is having a fantastic 2020 campaign, posting a 2.77 ERA across 13 innings with 13.8 strikeouts per nine innings and a 0.69 WHIP.
Philadelphia already acquired Brandon Workman and Heath Hembree to address its bullpen, which has a league-worst 7.01 ERA.
Phelps will reunite with manager Joe Girardi, who managed the right-hander with the New York Yankees from 2012-14.
In January, the Brewers signed Phelps to a one-year contract that guaranteed $1.5 million and included a club option for 2021.
The Phillies are currently 14-15, sitting third in the NL East.
