LeBron's children's book lands on New York Times best-sellers list
Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James became a best-selling author with the release of his first-ever children's book.
"I Promise," which James wrote in collaboration with illustrator Nina Mata, is the top children's picture book on The New York Times' latest best-sellers list.
The book was inspired by James' "I Promise" program, which he launched in his hometown of Akron, Ohio in 2011.
"The 'I Promise School' was inspired by the big dreams of kids in my hometown and around the world," James said in a promotional video for the book. "At the start of every school year, and repeated each morning, all students make a set of promises to themselves, just like those in this book. Setting goals, working hard, and holding yourself accountable are the first steps to success."
