A cake thief is on the loose inside the NBA bubble.
New Orleans Pelicans center Derrick Favors turned 29 on July 15, and the team helped him celebrate by having the rookies sing "Happy Birthday" and ordering a cake, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports. However, the cake was missing when Favors and his teammates went to their meal room to enjoy the dessert after practice.
The Pelicans reportedly placed an order for cupcakes the following day, but only one cupcake was left when members of the team retrieved them from the fridge.
The thief hasn't been identified, but Haynes noted the cake was stolen by someone outside the team. It's also not known if the Pelicans were the only victims.
