Converse announced Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is the newest edition to its basketball roster on Wednesday.
Ron Johnson, general manager of basketball for Converse, told Forbes' Tim Newcomb the brand plans to collaborate with Gilgeous-Alexander and find ways for him to express himself.
"Shai creates his own style," Johnson said. "We look forward to tapping into both his creative and athletic insights and ideas for product."
Converse returned to the basketball market in 2019 with the All-Star Pro BB, and the company has since launched several other sneakers. Its roster also includes Phoenix Suns forward Kelly Oubre Jr., the Golden State Warriors' Draymond Green, and WNBA champion Natasha Cloud.
