Steelers' Conner wants The Rock to play him in potential biopic
Pittsburgh Steelers running back James Conner has a suggestion for who could portray him in a future biopic: Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
Conner mentioned the actor and WWE legend while discussing the possibility of his new memoir, "Fear is a Choice," being adapted into a movie.
"I was thinking of Rock or somebody," Conner told TMZ Sports. "I've been in the gym, I got some tattoos - you know, The Rock, I know he's getting up there, but ... if one day it does come to screen, it'll be awesome. I need somebody to knock that role out of the park, though."
In his book, Conner shares his experience of being diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma while playing at the University of Pittsburgh in 2015. He was declared cancer-free the following year and went on to be drafted by the Steelers in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
"You have to kinda appreciate the dark days in order to move forward and have joy in the future," Conner said. "That mindset is everything. How you look at everything. Whatever you tell yourself, that's the truth - whether you say you can do it or you can't do it. I just want people to believe in themselves and realize how mentally strong that they are."
