The Toronto Blue Jays have released 29 minor leaguers from their contracts and committed to paying their remaining minor-league players through the end of June, according to Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.

Toronto will re-assess whether it will extend pay beyond June 30 later next month, Davidi notes.

Several teams have already agreed to pay minor-league players through the end of August. The Kansas City Royals have also stated they will not make any cuts to their farm system.

Clubs previously agreed to pay MiLB players $400 per week through the end of May when MLB postponed the 2020 season in March.
