The recent death of Kobe Bryant inspired Gilbert Arenas to embark on a new career as a youth basketball coach.
In a news clip posted Monday on Arenas' Instagram page, the former Washington Wizards guard spoke about Bryant challenging him to take up coaching.
"That's what really hurt me the most, that the person who told me to coach over and over, and when I decide to accept my new journey, he's gone," Arenas said.
Arenas previously shared on Instagram that Bryant encouraged him to take up coaching, either at the youth level or as a bench coach in the NBA or NCAA.
