Former NBA point guard Darren Collison will remain retired, league sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The 32-year-old informed teams the timing isn't right for his return, according to Wojnarowski. He had been linked to the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers as a potential midseason addition.

Despite putting up close to his career averages with the Indiana Pacers last season, the UCLA product made the surprising decision to retire and focus on his family and religion. Collison is a Jehovah's Witness.

Over 10 seasons predominantly spent with the Pacers and Sacramento Kings, Collison averaged 12.5 points, five assists, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.2 steals in 29.4 minutes per game.
