Report: Rockets engage with Hawks, others regarding Capela
The Houston Rockets are engaged with multiple Eastern Conference teams on potential trades involving center Clint Capela, reports ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Atlanta Hawks are reportedly among the teams in contact with Houston.
Capela is having an uneven year. The sixth-year big man is averaging a career-high 13.8 rebounds per game - fourth-best in the league - to go along with 13.9 points and 1.8 blocks. However, the Rockets outscore opponents by just 2.5 points per 100 possessions with Capela in the game; the figure improves to 6.5 when he's on the bench.
He's also missed nine games this season, most recently Sunday's match against the New Orleans Pelicans due to a heel contusion.
The Rockets are thought to be seeking a wing and a center ahead of the Feb. 6 trade deadline, according to Wojnarowski.
Capela is in the second season of a five-year, $90-million contract. He's owed $14.9 million for 2019-20.
