Report: Donaldson believed to have 4-year offers from Twins, Nationals
Free-agent third baseman Josh Donaldson has multiple four-year offers on the table and the Minnesota Twins and Washington Nationals are two teams believed to be willing to sign him at that term, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.
The Los Angeles Dodgers and Atlanta Braves are still in the mix but may be reluctant to hand the 34-year-old a four-year contract, Rosenthal adds.
Donaldson, who signed with the Braves for one year and $23 million in 2018, is seemingly on track to land a contract exceeding $100 million in guaranteed money.
If Minnesota lands Donaldson, current Twins third baseman Miguel Sano will reportedly move across the diamond to first base.
The National League Comeback Player of the Year hit .259/.379/.521 with 37 home runs and 94 RBIs in 2019. He managed the third-highest WAR among NL third basemen after Anthony Rendon and Nolan Arenado, according to FanGraphs.
