MJ signed check from 1984 billiards bet to be auctioned off
A rare item from Michael Jordan's playing days at North Carolina is hitting the auction block.
Goldin Auctions is selling a $5 check made out to Jordan following a series of billiards games during his final season with the Tar Heels in 1984. The check includes Jordan's signature on the back.

The auction consignor said Jordan was up $25 at one point, but after losing a few games in a row, he decided to cash out at $5. The games took place in the basement of Granville Towers on the North Carolina campus, according to the consignor.
Jordan went on to be selected No. 3 overall by the Chicago Bulls in the 1984 NBA Draft.
Bidding on the check opens Nov. 18.
