Dwight Howard and JaVale McGee have both experienced their fair share of drama with Shaquille O'Neal, and according to Howard, it helped bring them together as Los Angeles Lakers teammates.

While appearing on the "Inside the Green Room" podcast with Harrison Sanford and teammate Danny Green, Howard explained how he and McGee bonded over their mutual desire to fight Shaq.

"I asked him, I was like, 'Hey, did you want to fight Shaq?' He was like, 'Man I did, man!' I was like, 'Man I did too,'" Howard said with a chuckle. "But I was like, 'It's two things we've got to worry about. He's a cop, so if we hurt him, we're going to jail. And two, if Shaq get a hold of us, it's over with."

"... We laughed about a good 30 minutes, just talking about Shaq and all the things he used to say about us. But you know what it kind of did? It kind of kept us grounded, but it also made us realize, like, alright ... every night we step in the gym, on the court, whatever we're doing, let's go 110% because we don't want somebody like this, or anybody, ever questioning who we are as basketball players and men."

McGee has been a favorite target of Shaq's on his "Shaqtin' a Fool" segment. The two also engaged in a Twitter feud in 2017 that led to Shaq's mom getting involved.

Shaq joked about not knowing Howard after the Lakers signed him this past summer, but later wished him well and offered some advice.
