Ben Simmons is apparently going to be receiving mixed martial arts training following Wednesday's on-court brawl between the Philadelphia 76ers and Minnesota Timberwolves.

Former UFC and Bellator champion Eddie Alvarez told TMZ Sports he spoke with Simmons after the game and will be visiting the Sixers next week.

"I have to go to Disney this weekend. When I get home from Disney, I'm headed down to the Sixers," Alvarez said. "... I already spoke with Ben briefly last night. We're about to get together and get this going."

The Sixers' Joel Embiid and Timberwolves' Karl-Anthony Towns were both ejected from Wednesday's game for their roles in the brawl. Simmons was also involved and appeared to have Towns in a chokehold at one point.

Alvarez, a Philadelphia native, was complimentary of Simmons and Embiid's fighting skills, but thinks there's some room for improvement.

"Fundamentally, we're already good," Alvarez said. "We just got to clean up a little bit of technique and no team will be able to mess with us if it comes down to anything like that again. I promise you."
