Derrick Favors is learning how seriously some New Orleanians take their sports fandom.
The Atlanta native was traded from the Utah Jazz to the New Orleans Pelicans in June. At the team's media day Monday, he told reporters that he got kicked out of an Uber driver's car after revealing he's a Falcons fan.
"He was talking about the Saints when Drew Brees got hurt, and he asked me who's my team," Favors said. "I was like, 'I don't know if I should tell you.' I end up telling him. I was like, 'I'm a Falcons fan.' And he stopped the car. He was like, 'You got to get out now, man.'"
The two NFC South teams' rivalry dates back to the 1960s, so Favors may want to keep quiet about his allegiance during future Uber rides.
