Report: Cyborg to face Budd for Bellator featherweight title

Cris Cyborg's first Bellator fight will be a title bout.

Cyborg will face Julia Budd for the promotion's women's featherweight title on Jan. 25, ESPN's Marc Raimondi reports. An official announcement is expected on Saturday.

The UFC released Cyborg in August following nasty negotiations for a contract extension. She lost her title to Amanda Nunes in December just 51 seconds in but rebounded with a unanimous decision victory over Felicia Spencer in July.

Budd has won her past 11 fights and has held the Bellator featherweight belt since 2017.
