Houston furniture store offering refunds on mattresses if Astros win WS

A Houston businessman could be on the hook for millions of dollars if the Astros win the World Series.

After refunding over $10 million in purchases after Houston's championship in 2017, Gallery Furniture owner Jim "Mattress Mack" McIngvale is bringing back his "Astros Win It All" promotion for the 2019 MLB playoffs. Anyone who purchases a mattress for $3,000 or more from his stores will receive a full refund if Houston wins its second World Series in three years.

McIngvale is looking to bet upwards of $10 million on the Astros to help cover the cost of the refunds, according to ESPN's David Purdum. He also placed bets on Houston in 2017 but declined to say how much he wagered.

"It worked out well for the Astros and it worked out well for our customers," he said. "That's all that matters."

The Astros clinched their third straight American League West title with a win over the Los Angeles Angels on Sunday.
