Eight-year NFL veteran Torrey Smith has announced his retirement.

"I'm blessed to be able to walk away from this game with most of my health, a clear mind, and a grateful heart," he details in the video. "Can't wait to begin the next phase of my life where my heart is and never left - Baltimore."

Though he hasn't played in Baltimore since 2014, Smith continues to run the Torrey Smith Family Fund based in the city. He holds an annual charity basketball game and through his organization provides scholarships, runs holiday drives, and mentors students.

On the football field, Smith was one of the top deep threats early in his career, winning a Super Bowl in 2012 with the Baltimore Ravens before posting a 1,128-yard season for the team in 2013. Smith went on to play for the San Francisco 49ers and earned another Super Bowl ring with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2017. He then finished off his career with the Carolina Panthers.

In his eight years in the NFL, Smith compiled 319 catches for 5,141 yards and 41 touchdowns.
