A Louisiana high school wide receiver has emerged as a contender for the best name in football.

De'Coldest Crawford, a sophomore at Green Oaks High School in Shreveport, went viral last week after speaking to a local media outlet about the upcoming season.

Crawford explained the origin of his unique name during an interview with Jordan James of 247Sports.

"My mom came up with my name," Crawford said. "She named me this because she knew I would be the best athlete out of everyone in the family."

He's been enjoying all the attention the name has given him, too.

"I love the fame everyone's giving me on social media, keep it going," he said.

Crawford, who's listed at 6-foot-2 and 145 lbs, caught 18 passes for 203 yards and three touchdowns last season, according to MaxPreps. He's reportedly received offers from Southern University and Southern Miss.
