Tattoos removed from Larry Bird mural after NBA legend complains

Larry Bird got his wish.

An Indianapolis mural depicting Bird with tattoos on his arms and face has been altered after the NBA legend requested that the ink be removed.

The mural, painted by street artist Jules Muck, is based on Bird's 1977 Sports Illustrated cover photoshoot. Muck and Bird reached an agreement to keep the Indiana tattoo on his forearm.

Bird's attorney, Gary Sallee, said earlier this week that while Bird doesn't have an issue with tattoos, "he just doesn't want to be seen as a tattooed guy."
