While Michael Jordan wasn't officially in the '90s video game NBA Jam due to a marketing pact with Nike, there is a copy out there that includes the Chicago Bulls legend.

Tim Kitzrow, the official voice of NBA Jam, revealed that Jordan had the makers of the video game create a special version with a playable version of himself. Former Seattle Supersonics point guard Gary Payton and MLB Hall of Famer Ken Griffey Jr. also received exclusive editions.

"The interesting thing is him, Gary Payton, Ken Griffey Jr. all wanted to be in the game," Kitzrow told Brandon "Scoop B" Robinson of Heavy.com. "Gary Payton wasn't in the very first year with the Sonics. So we got a call from their agents and I came back in the studio and recorded their voices. The artists put together the visuals and we sent them each individual a large NBA Jam package."

NBA Jam creator Mark Turmell was asked about the possibility of releasing the Jordan version during a Reddit AMA in 2017, and said he would "try to dig (it) up." Kitzrow would like to see it eventually make it into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

"Maybe one day I'll talk to Mark Turmell and see how, if possible legally, we could release the Holy Grail with Michael Jordan in it, see it, or at least get in into the Hall of Fame," he said. "Some discussion that the Hall of Fame will do some updating to exhibits on the effects of video games on the league and have an old NBA Jam cabinet. That would be great to have the Michael Jordan version there."
