Tottenham weren't content with bringing in just one electrifying midfielder this summer.

Having already added Tanguy Ndombele to their ranks in July, Spurs made another impressive move on Thursday, signing Argentine international Giovani Lo Celso on loan from Real Betis. The deal includes an option to buy, which is reportedly worth €60 million.

The aforementioned price tag would equal the club-record sum that Mauricio Pochettino's lot paid to secure Ndombele's services last month.

Lo Celso only joined Betis last year from Paris Saint-Germain and made his initial loan move permanent in April. All told, he racked up 45 appearances for the Andalusian side in all competitions last season, scoring an impressive 16 goals.

His arrival in north London could coincide with the end of Christian Eriksen's time at the club. The Dane has expressed a desire to leave Spurs this summer, and has less than 11 months remaining on his contract. Real Madrid is thought to be his preferred destination.

Manchester United were said to be interested in the crafty 27-year-old in recent days, but talks between the two clubs reportedly broke down.
