Manchester United have fined Romelu Lukaku two weeks' wages for skipping training and posting a now-deleted tweet revealing sensitive information, according to The Telegraph's James Ducker.

Although players had the day off Monday, they were told to report back to United's training ground Tuesday.

Instead, Lukaku trained at former club Anderlecht's facilities. Images of the Belgian international in Anderlecht's colors quickly made the rounds on social media, suggesting the player has no intention of suiting up for United again.

Lukaku's relationship with United - and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in particular - has deteriorated in recent weeks. The club reportedly ordered the 26-year-old to delete a tweet last Friday containing confidential information from a training session. The tweet, which showed his running statistics, was aimed at critics who questioned his pace.

United reportedly explored a swap deal involving Lukaku and Juventus playmaker Paulo Dybala in recent days, but pulled the plug on negotiations.

Now Inter - who failed with an opening bid said to be around £54 million earlier in the summer - are back in the discussion. The Telegraph's Matt Law believes the Nerazzurri are increasingly optimistic they'll reach an agreement with United.

Serie A's transfer window will close on Aug. 18.

Lukaku missed each of United's preseason friendlies in July and August due to an ankle injury.
