Everton have reportedly set their sights on Italian prodigy Moise Kean after offloading young forward Ademola Lookman.

The Toffees contacted Juventus about the availability of Kean, according to Fabrizio Romano of the Guardian, who added that the Italian club would sell the forward for €40 million (£35.7 million) if Everton agree to include a buy-back option.

Juve's valuation for the 19-year-old is said to be higher than Everton are willing to pay, but the Merseyside outfit may be willing to cough up the cash after collecting £22.5 million from the sale of Lookman to RB Leipzig.

Meanwhile, the main stumbling block appears to be the buy-back option, which Juventus apparently wants set at approximately €60million (£53.5 million).

Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici has traveled to Liverpool to hold talks with Everton officials, according to Sky Sport's Gianluca Di Marzio, who added that Kean is interested in a move to Everton.

The youngster, who has one year remaining on his contract, began last season in relative obscurity before catching the football world's attention with six goals in seven appearances near the tail end of the campaign. The impressive display earned Kean a call-up to the Italian national team.

However, his future in Turin is uncertain due to the abundance of talented players at Juventus. As things stand, Kean will likely struggle for regular playing time with fellow forwards Cristiano Ronaldo, Gonzalo Higuain, and Mario Mandzukic above him on manager Maurizio Sarri's depth chart.
