Kevin Garnett will be on the big screen later this year.

The retired 15-time NBA All-Star has a role in "Uncut Gems," which will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.

Directed by brothers Josh and Benny Safdie, the film stars Adam Sandler as "a charismatic New York City jeweler always on the lookout for the next big score." Garnett will play himself, according to IMDB.

"It's probably the most Safdie movie you've ever seen," TIFF artistic director Cameron Bailey said in an interview with Zack Sharf of IndieWire. "It moves at a breakneck pace. It's cranked up to 11 the whole time. ... Adam Sandler gives his very best performance since 'Punch-Drunk Love' and Kevin Garnett is in it, so it's got something for everybody. They shot everything on (35mm) so even though it's a bigger movie for them it's got a real gritty quality."

This is the second movie role for Garnett, who made an uncredited appearance in the 1994 college basketball drama "Blue Chips."
