Texas received the commitment of four-star defensive end Vernon Broughton on Wednesday.
The 6-foot-5, 280 lbs Houston native opted to stay closer to his hometown rather than depart for Alabama, Oklahoma, or USC.
Broughton is ranked 11th at his position on the ESPN 300.
