Los Angeles Clippers guard Landry Shamet has been invited to participate with the Select Team at the USA's FIBA World Cup training camp in August, league sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Shamet will join a younger 10-man group that already includes New Orleans Pelicans phenom Zion Williamson. Both players could earn a spot on USA Basketball's 12-man senior roster for the upcoming World Cup.

The 22-year-old had an impressive rookie season, during which he averaged 9.1 points on 43.1 percent shooting from the floor - including a 42.2 percent mark from distance - across 79 appearances. He was named to the NBA's All-Rookie second team.

Shamet was acquired from the Philadelphia 76ers in the Tobias Harris blockbuster deal on the eve of the NBA trade deadline.
