With the No. 25 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, the Portland Trail Blazers selected North Carolina forward Nassir Little.

There was plenty of hype around Little's potential prior to his freshman season in Chapel Hill. Although the excitement took a hit due to a lack of opportunity in Roy Williams' system, the former five-star recruit remains among the most intriguing high-ceiling prospects available.

Little was a late bloomer, truly coming into his own as a high school senior. With some patience and proper development, he could capitalize on his excellent size and athleticism to evolve into a two-way stud.

Though he lacked consistency during the season, averaging 9.8 points and 4.6 rebounds in 18.2 minutes per game, Little impressed in the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament by dropping 19 and 20 points against Iona and Washington, respectively.

Strengths

  • Terrific size and athleticism. Strong enough to switch on bigs, fast enough to stay on the perimeter.
  • More than capable of becoming an effective 3-point threat.
  • Can become a monster on the boards. Will get above the opposition and overpower them off misses. Constant putback threat.

Weaknesses

  • Though he has a high ceiling as a shooter, was disappointingly inconsistent from the perimeter (26.9 percent on 1.4 attempts).
  • Disappeared in the half court; was forced to score mostly in transition or off misses.
