The Orlando Magic, Utah Jazz, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Indiana Pacers are among the teams expected to show interest in Brooklyn Nets restricted free agent D'Angelo Russell, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.

Russell is coming off the first All-Star season of his young career and helped the Nets end a three-season playoff drought before they fell in five games to the Philadelphia 76ers in the opening round. The 23-year-old has expressed interest in remaining in Brooklyn.

"I definitely want to be here. But I also know it's a business, too. So I'm not going to play that role like I don't know what could possibly happen," Russell said in April.

The Nets appear to be a legitimate threat to steal free-agent point guard Kyrie Irving from the Boston Celtics, a move that could push Russell to sign elsewhere to remain the primary ball-handler for an organization.

Utah is looking to make a significant addition beside Donovan Mitchell as it aims to become a true contender in the stiff Western Conference. The front office has already informed free-agent point guard Ricky Rubio he is not 'priority No. 1' as the team potentially looks to shake things up following its first-round exit.

The Magic and Pacers, meanwhile, are Eastern Conference playoff contenders without legitimate starting options at point guard; Orlando and Indiana were forced to lean on journeymen D.J. Augustin and Darren Collison, respectively, this past season.

Timberwolves point guard Jeff Teague has one year remaining on his deal and could look to hand the keys to a younger star beside franchise cornerstones Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins.
