With the 41st pick in the 2019 MLB amateur draft, the Texas Rangers selected Davis Wendzel, a third baseman out of Baylor.
The Rangers received the pick as part of a trade that sent lefty reliever Alex Claudio to the Milwaukee Brewers.
While Wendzel possesses slightly below average power and speed, the corner infielder is known for his elite plate discipline, which enables him to drive the ball gap to gap after waiting for his pitch.
