Report: Wizards offer Tim Connelly top front-office job
The Washington Wizards have offered current Denver Nuggets president of basketball operations Tim Connelly a four-year contract for their head front-office position, sources told The Athletic's Fred Katz, David Aldridge, and Shams Charania.
It was reported Thursday that the Nuggets gave permission to Connelly to speak with the Wizards. He left the combine in Chicago on Friday to travel to Washington and meet with the team, according to The Athletic.
Connelly has overseen the Nuggets since 2013 when Masai Ujiri departed for the Toronto Raptors. A native of Baltimore, Connelly began his NBA career as an intern with the then-Bullets organization in 1996. He later worked as a video coordinator for the Wizards.
Washington fired former president Ernie Grunfeld last month after 16 years on the job.
