Coach K: Zion expected back for ACC Tournament
Duke freshman Zion Williamson is expected to return to action when the team begins ACC Tournament play Thursday, Blue Devils coach Mike Krzyzewski announced after Saturday's 79-70 loss to North Carolina, according to CBS Sports' Chip Patterson.
Williamson suffered a Grade 1 right knee sprain Feb. 20, just one minute into a Duke loss, also to North Carolina.
Unfortunately, Duke also got some bad news on the injury front. Center Marques Bolden left Saturday's clash against the Tar Heels with a sprained left MCL and is out indefinitely.
"I don't know degree, the level, 1, 2 ... I don't know that," Krzyzewski said postgame, according to ESPN. "But it's not an ACL, so it's good for that kid."
Duke wrapped up conference play with a 14-4 record, but have stumbled to the finish line, going 3-3 with Williamson out of the lineup. The Blue Devils' season will pick back up in Charlotte, N.C., in the ACC quarterfinals. They'll face the winner of Syracuse versus either Boston College or Pittsburgh.
