LaVar Ball will 'speak into existence' Lonzo being traded to Suns
LaVar Ball is back.
After months of maintaining a relatively low profile, the basketball patriarch chimed in Monday on reports that his eldest son, Lonzo, will be part of the Los Angeles Lakers' trade package in a potential Anthony Davis deal with the New Orleans Pelicans.
"We want to be in L.A.," the senior Ball told ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk. "But if he’s traded, I don’t want Lonzo in New Orleans. Phoenix is the best fit for him. And I am going to speak it into existence."
Ball, of course, took credit for "speaking into existence" the family's hometown Lakers drafting Lonzo in 2017.
The Suns have been in the point guard market for months. LaVar's re-emergence follows reports last week that Lonzo would prefer being dealt to a third team rather than the Pelicans in a Davis trade.
