The Portland Trail Blazers have made their first big roster move ahead of Thursday's trade deadline, acquiring wing Rodney Hood from the Cleveland Cavaliers, the team announced Monday.

The Cavaliers will receive wing Nik Stauskas, guard Wade Baldwin, and two second-round picks. The selections are for 2021 and 2023, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Hood signed a $3.4-million qualifying offer with the Cavaliers this summer. He thus had to approve any deal as it required him to waive his Bird Rights, forfeiting the possibility of his team going over the salary cap to re-sign him this coming offseason. The 26-year-old was reportedly enthusiastic about the prospect of joining Portland for the rest of the season.

In 45 starts with Cleveland this season, Hood has averaged 12.2 points, 2.5 rebounds, and two assists in 27.4 minutes per game.

The deal marks the Cavaliers' third trade this season, following the November move that sent Kyle Korver to the Utah Jazz and the December deal that jettisoned George Hill and Sam Dekker.

Between the three deals, the Cavaliers have turned their role players into one first-round pick and six second-round picks, according to ESPN's Bobby Marks.

Stauskas, the No. 8 pick by the Sacramento Kings in 2014, has made 44 appearances for the Trail Blazers, averaging 6.1 points on 41.9 percent shooting in just over 15 minutes per game. Baldwin, the No. 17 pick by the Memphis Grizzlies in 2016, has mostly played a deep reserve role for Portland.
