Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James missed Saturday's showdown against the Golden State Warriors due to load management, the team announced.

James missed 17 straight games with a groin strain before returning on Thursday in a 123-120 win against the L.A. Clippers. The Lakers (27-26) went 6-11 during his absence, including a 19-point blowout loss to the Warriors on Jan. 21.

The Warriors emerged victorious again, topping the Lakers 115-101 on Saturday.

The 34-year-old admitted he wasn't himself after playing 40 minutes in Thursday's return, finishing with 24 points, 14 rebounds, and nine assists.

"Being out five weeks, I'm feeling it right now," James told reporters after the win. "I wish I could click my shoes together right now and be home in my bed.''

The 15-time All-Star is averaging 27.2 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 7.2 assists in 35 appearances.
