Duke's Tre Jones out indefinitely with shoulder injury
Duke point guard Tre Jones "will be out a while" after leaving Monday's loss to Syracuse with a shoulder injury, head coach Mike Krzyzewski said, according to ESPN's David M. Hale.
Jones suffered an acromioclavicular joint separation and is sidelined indefinitely, a Duke official told CBS Sports' Gary Parrish. The freshman had to be helped off the floor in the first half after a hard collision with Syracuse's Frank Howard.
"He was in a lot of pain," Krzyzewski said after the game, according to Hale. "And he's the toughest kid and right away, he said he thought his collarbone was broken."
Jones may not boast the popularity of teammates Zion Williamson, R.J. Barrett, and Cam Reddish, but he is a key player for Duke. He leads the team in assists and is tied for second in steals.
