MLB, FOX Sports finalize 7-year, $5.1-billion broadcast deal
Major League Baseball and FOX Sports finalized a seven-year, $5.1-billion megadeal covering broadcast rights from 2022-28, according to Eric Fisher of SportsBusiness Journal.
The new deal is worth approximately 50 percent more than the current agreement, which is set to expire following the 2021 season, according to Fisher.
The new contract is reportedly similar to the current one, with FOX Sports possessing rights to the ALCS and NLCS while having the right to move games to FS1. The World Series and All-Star Game will also stay under the purview of FOX.
Additionally, MLB announced a three-year deal with digital broadcaster DAZN, which will work jointly with the league to co-produce a live look-in show, according to Fisher. DAZN's deal with MLB is worth $300 million over three years and will begin with the upcoming season, according to Maury Brown of Forbes.
