Bulls' Dunn out 4-6 weeks with MCL sprain
Chicago Bulls guard Kris Dunn will be out for the next four-to-six weeks with a sprained left MCL, the team announced Tuesday.
The news comes less than 24 hours after Dunn's season debut against the Dallas Mavericks on Monday night. The Providence product recorded nine points, seven assists, and four rebounds, fouling out after 30 minutes of action.
The 24-year-old missed the Bulls' first two regular-season games due to the birth of his son. Fourth-year guard Cameron Payne, a lottery pick in 2015, started both contests in Dunn's absence.
Dunn is coming off a 2017-18 season in which he stepped up on both ends of the court while Zach LaVine recovered from a torn ACL. In 52 appearances (43 starts) last year, Dunn averaged 13.4 points, six assists, 4.3 rebounds, and finished fourth in the league with two steals per game.
