It apparently won't take long before the Phoenix Suns find a successor to recently deposed general manager Ryan McDonough.
Suns team owner Robert Sarver is leaning toward promoting interim general manager James Jones to the full-time role after McDonough was dismissed Monday, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Jones was named vice president of basketball operations shortly after he retired from basketball in 2017. Prior to that, he was a highly regarded 14-year veteran who also served on the Players' Union.
Sarver, who is notoriously hands-on as far as owners go, initially hired Jones for his ability to communicate with players.
