Despite turning 34 this December, LeBron James says he's ready to play up-tempo on a youth-laden Los Angeles Lakers squad this season.

“You see those young legs out there,” James told Yahoo's Chris Haynes. "We would be stupid not to utilize that as a strength."

Most of the Lakers figure to benefit from LeBron's presence, but Brandon Ingram in particular could prosper. The 21-year-old made leaps in shooting and passing last season, and the team hopes he'll quickly grow into a reliable fast-break sidekick for The King.

"He's got the juice," James said of Ingram. "He's going to be a special player."

Playing on fast-paced teams is not something James has done much throughout his career, often because his modus operandi has been to dominate the ball and slow things down. The Lakers placed third in pace last season, per NBA Stats, while the Cleveland Cavaliers finished with the highest-ranked pace (12th) of James' career.
