JR Smith to be fined by NBA if he doesn't cover 'Supreme' tattoo
Warning: Story contains coarse language
The NBA is apparently ready to fine Cleveland Cavaliers guard JR Smith for every game he doesn't cover his "Supreme" tattoo on the back of his leg.
Smith took to Instagram to complain about the matter, believing the league is against him, writing "You don't make people cover up Jordan logos, Nike checks, or anything else. But because it's me it's a problem all of a sudden."
An NBA spokesperson has since responded to Smith's frustration with a statement, stating "NBA rules prohibit players from displaying any commercial logos or corporate insignia on their body or in their hair," according to The Athletic's Shams Charania.
Smith notably wore a Supreme shooting sleeve during the regular season. Washington Wizards guard Kelly Oubre Jr. did the same by rocking a Supreme leg sleeve during a game before it was banned from use.
However, Smith certainly took it one step further, getting a tattoo of the brand's name on his calf earlier this summer.
