Ohio State defensive end Nick Bosa underwent surgery to repair a core muscle injury and there is no timetable for his return, head coach Urban Meyer said Thursday.

"We hope to get him back as soon as possible. We're not sure when that will be," Meyer said Thursday on 97.1 The Fan in Columbus. "A lot of it is the recovery. He's obviously one of the best players in football, but even a better person from an incredible family. So prayers, hug him up, and let's go."

Bosa was already ruled out for Saturday's game against Tulane. He suffered the injury against TCU on Sept. 15.

Considered by some as the top prospect for the 2019 NFL Draft, Bosa has been outstanding thus far, recording four sacks, six tackles for loss, and a forced fumble.
