Nebraska's Martinez leaves game with apparent knee injury

Nebraska quarterback Adrian Martinez left Saturday's game versus Colorado with an apparent knee injury, according to USA Today's George Schroeder.

Martinez got his legs tangled up during with 2:23 remaining in the fourth quarter. He walked off the field with his right knee heavily wrapped.

After the game, Cornhuskers head coach Scott Frost said initial signs are "semi encouraging," and the team will wait for doctors to weigh in before disclosing more, according to 247 Sports' Michael Bruntz.

The freshman quarterback was electric against the Buffaloes before going down, throwing for 187 yards and rushing for 117 yards, totaling three touchdowns.

Walk-on backup Andrew Bunch replaced Martinez at quarterback, but failed to lead his team to a game-winning drive after Colorado took the lead late in the fourth quarter.

The Buffaloes spoiled Frost's Nebraska debut, capturing a 33-28 victory.
